[Am I eligible?]

You may be eligible to participate in this study if:

  • You are 30 years of age or older.
  • You were recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
  • You have been taking rasagiline (Azilect) or selegiline (Eldepryl) for at least 8 weeks but no more than 8 months.
  • You will not require additional symptom treatment in the coming year.

You may not be eligible to participate if:

  • You have freezing.
  • You have a history of congetive heart failure, bladder cancer, macular edema, or osteoporosis.
  • You have type I or II diabetes.
  • You have a history of stereotaxic surgery for Parkinson's disease.
  • You use drugs or alcohol or have a dependence that would interfere with the safe conduct of the study.
